LINKS

From Downtown Pittsburgh, East and North:
Follow I-279 South (the "Parkway West" outbound) to Exit 3 "PA-50 Carnegie/Heidelberg". Follow right fork of exit ramp (marked "Carnegie") when ramp splits. You will merge onto Mansfield Avenue. Go straight through the first traffic light (jog to right of traffic island as Mansfield goes from 2 lanes to 4 at this intersection). At the next (2nd) light, turn left onto Broadway Avenue. After one block there is a 4-way stop at Main Street; go straight across. Just beyond the intersection, the road forks; bear right onto Beechwood Avenue, the road curving up the hill ahead of you to your right. Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is on the right at the top of the hill.

From Airport
Follow the Parkway West toward downtown (labelled PA-60 South, then US-22-30 West, then I-279 North); to Exit 3 "PA-50 Carnegie/Crafton". Get in the right lane before the exit ramp reaches the traffic light. At the light, turn right onto Chestnut Street. Go one block to next light (BP is across from you on left), turn Left onto East Main Street. Follow 3 blocks (go straight through traffic light where PA-50 turns left) to Stop sign (Papa J's will be on your left). Turn Left onto Broadway Avenue. Immediately follow the right fork onto Beechwood, the road which curves up the hill to your right; Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is on the right at the top of the hill.

From I-79 (North Hills or Bridgeville/Washington County areas)
Exit I-79 at Exit 57 ("Carnegie"). At the end of the ramp, turn toward Carnegie (southbound traffic turn left; northbound traffic turn right) onto Noblestown Road (becomes Mansfield Avenue). At the fourth traffic light, turn right onto Broadway Avenue. After one block there is a 4-way stop at Main Street; go straight across. Just beyond the intersection, the road forks; bear right onto Beechwood Avenue, the road curving up the hill ahead of you to your right. Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is on the right at the top of the hill. through

From South Hills - Mt. Lebanon & Bethel Park area
Follow the "Yellow Belt" toward Greater Pittsburgh Airport. (Yes, it makes a lot of turns, but it is fairly well marked. From Bethel Park, it follows Library Rd. (PA-88), Connor Road, Washington Road (US-19), Cochran Road, Greentree Road, Hope Hollow Road, and Washington Ave. into Carnegie.)

When you get into Carnegie, turn left with the Yellow Belt off of the end of Washington Ave. onto East Main Street and follow to stop sign. Here the Yellow Belt turns right, but you should instead turn left onto Broadway Avenue. Immediately follow the right fork onto Beechwood, the road which curves up the hill to your right; Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is on the right at the top of the hill.

From Banksville / Dormont area
Take either Potomac or McMonagle Aves. west (right turn off Banksville when headed away from Downtown) to their end at Greentree Road (PA-121); turn left. Along Greentree Road, pass traffic lights at McMonagle and double light at Arla/Chatham Park to next light at Forsythe Road; turn right. Go 1 mile down long hill. When you get to the third traffic light, turn left onto East Main Street. Follow 3 blocks to stop sign, turn Left onto Broadway. Immediately follow the right fork onto Beechwood, the road which curves up the hill to your right; Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is on the right at the top of the hill.

Parking in the library is limited; you may park along Beechwood Avenue, or park in Carnegie's "East Mall" parking lot. To reach the lot, return down Beechwood to the stop sign at Broadway and East Main Street. Turn left onto East Main Street. Go one block; the metered public parking lot is on the right.
