The Overbrook line (Routes 35, 36, and 37) curved across Castle Shannon
Boulevard and Willow Street. The signal on the telephone pole on the right
actually served as a traffic light for the trolleys, and unlike other trolley
signals this one cycled green-yellow-red. It was included in the intersection
traffic light sequence (whether or not a trolley was present); however, the
green signal shown here just allowed an inbound streetcar to proceed toward
Poplar Avenue and downtown.
The buildings on the right sport new businesses, as does the narrow
building in the corner across the street (to the right of the tracks).
Check out the telephone pole leaning out from behind the signal pole
(nearer to Fineman's).
